Spring Legislation Programme
Government Chief Whip, Minister Hildegarde Naughton has published the Spring Legislative Programme containing 38 bills for publication and priority drafting by Ministers in the forthcoming Oireachtas session.
The programme has been approved by Cabinet and is published following engagement and consultation with government departments, officials and the Office of the Attorney General.

As the Central Bank (Individual Accountability Framework) Bill 2022 ("Bill") moves quickly through the Irish parliamentary process, the implementation of an Irish Individual Accountability Framework, including a Senior Executive Accountability Regime ("SEAR"), has picked up speed.

New Sick Leave Legislation
The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney, has confirmed the new entitlement to employer-paid sick leave which comes into effect 1st January 2023. Workers will now be entitled to up to 3 days of employer-paid sick leave in a year, paid at 70% of gross salary up to a cap of €110 per day.

COVID 19 AGM - Rules Extended
The hastily adopted Companies (Miscellaneous Provisions)(Covid-19) Act 2020 (the "Covid-19 Act") was one of the many pro-business measures of the Irish Government to the issues posed by the beginning of Covid-19 in 2020.
These statutory measures, which overrule a company's written constitution, were only implemented for a limited time and were set to expire on April 30, 2022 have now been extended by the Government until 31 December 2022
Consumer Rights Bill 2022
The Consumer Rights Bill 2022 Consolidates and updates existing consumer protection legislation that regulate the main types of consumer contract and introduces new and enhanced consumer protection measures. The Bill also gives effect to EU consumer rights Directives, namely:
(i) Directive 2019/770 on certain aspects concerning contracts for the supply of digital content and digital services;
(ii) Directive 2019/771 on certain aspects concerning contracts for the sale of goods; and
(iii) the main provisions of Directive 2019/2161 on the better enforcement and modernisation of Union consumer protection rules
Gender Pay Gap Reporting
The Gender Pay Gap Information Act 2021 has introduced the legislative basis for gender pay gap reporting and regulations under the Act will be published in the coming weeks. The regulations will require organisations with over 250 employees to report on their gender pay gap in 2022.
