The Lucas Lecture 2025
Lionheart is delighted to announce that our Managing Partner, Patrick Downes, will deliver the keynote address at the Lucas Lecture 2025, taking place on 21 October at the Princess Grace Irish Library, Monaco.
The Lucas Lecture is a distinguished annual event honouring the role of the Irish diaspora in global military history. Established in memory of the heroism of Irish-American first responders on 9/11, it is named after Admiral Charles Lucas, the first recipient of the Victoria Cross.
Lionheart has been proud to support the lecture since its foundation, recognising its focus on values that resonate deeply with our work – courage, leadership, and service without borders.
Patrick’s theme, “Valour Without Borders: Irish Honour on the Global Battlefield”, will trace the extraordinary stories of Irish men and women who earned international honours such as the Victoria Cross, Medal of Honor, and Légion d’honneur, from the Wild Geese to modern heroes.
